Global School of Fundamental Education
The Global School of fundamental Education is responsible for providing Korean language and general education courses for international undergraduate students. To support their successful adaptation to university life and enhance their academic performance, the school offers a variety of Korean Language for Academic Purposes (KLAP) courses. In addition, it provides general education courses designed to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills, enhance cultural sensitivity and global awareness, and improve practical and interdisciplinary communication skills.
 
Educational Goals
 
Effective Communication in Korean Society Purpose
Cultivating individuals who can successfully communicate within the Korean discourse community by developing a solid understanding of the Korean language and society.
 
Academic Fluency in Korean
Equipping students with the ability to comprehend and express academic genres and texts fluently, while understanding the values, norms, and conventions of Korea’s academic community, including lectures, seminars, and academic writing.
 
Intercultural Communication & Global Awareness
Fostering individuals who can engage with learners from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, promote intercultural awareness, and participate in language and cultural exchanges with a mature and global perspective.
 
Interdisciplinary & Creative Humanities Literacy
Developing well-rounded individuals who can scientifically analyze and critically think about various social issues in modern society by integrating interdisciplinary and creative humanities knowledge.
